Angela from Sri Lanka. I met Hynek through some mutual friends back in April 2008 having heard about his work especially in photorealism style paintings. I really liked his style, and was amazed especially by the painting of Zuzka. It was therefore a delight when he asked if he could paint me. The title of the painting – ‘Angela from Sri Lanka’ - chosen by Hynek is very special to me... more

Zuzana in the Paris Studio reflects the life I share with Zuzana. It took the entire time of my stay in Paris, a year, to come into being. I was never concerned merely to capture the face of a young woman but to tell a story of two people.
